Me? Run a Marathon?! Yes, you!

No matter your age or athletic ability, you can train to participate in — and finish — a marathon and other walk/run events. Recreational walkers and runners are especially welcome!

The clinic is designed for ordinary people — whether you're training to participate in a marathon event or if you'd just like to get some great exercise in a relaxing, supportive group setting.

Free Beginners Seminar

We are currently training for the Honolulu Marathon. Want to know more? Come to a free Beginners Seminar on one of the following dates (all seminars held at 7 p.m. in the Vallejo Drive Church Fellowship Hall):

Training, Support & Education
We meet every Sunday at 7 a.m. in Verdugo Park in Glendale. There are three levels of training to choose from.

• Beginner — enables a sedentary, non-athletic person to complete a 5k, 10k or 15k walk/run
  
  MARCH 16 - JUNE 1, 2008
  
  
• Intermediate — preparation for a half-marathon
  (21 kilometers, or just over 13.1 miles)
  
  JUNE 8 - AUGUST 24, 2008
  
  
• Advanced — preparation for a full marathon
  (42 kilometers, or just over 26.2 miles)
  
  SEPTEMBER 7 - NOVEMBER 23, 2008

In addition to training and support, the clinic features lectures by sports medicine professionals from Glendale Adventist Medical Center and helpful educational materials.

Low Cost
Beginner: $40 for first 12 weeks
Alumni: $20 for each additional 12 weeks; Children of participants under 18 years are free
